Stool workshop with The Girls’ Brigade for beneficiaries

We had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with The Girls’ Brigade Singapore on their inspiring project, GB Friend in Deed, in 2023. GB Friend in Deed is their signature annual community service project, serving both the Girls and the underprivileged. 

Together, we built stools intended for the benefit of these individuals. Across five workshop sessions, each lasting two hours, over a hundred GB Girls from different primary and secondary schools came together to craft these stools.

The stool was designed taking into consideration the usage in these homes, workshop restrictions, and the Girl’s needs and interests. 

The Girls’ actively participated in the process and were taught how to sand, finish, and assemble these stools, gaining valuable exposure to basic woodworking skills. Deploying a through mortise and tenon joint, they were able to secure and lock the stool together using a wedge. 

We are excited to pursue more collaborations like this in the future, whether with educational institutions, government organisations, social enterprises, or beyond.
