An outdoor bench inspired by a leaf’s structure.

In the conceptualisation of the outdoor bench, our designer Jon was inspired by the structure of a leaf. The underside of the leaf–reflected through mild steel metal ribs and legs–were motivated by the vein structure you can see on a leaf. A dihedral angle added to the seats, referencing the natural curvature in leaves, provided extra comfort.

Initial sketches of the angsana bench. Subtle angles were added to the seat in the final design, creating a fitting form that cradles your posterior.
