Repurposing public carpark lots into a communal seating area along Keong Saik Road and Jiak Chuan Road.

Located along Keong Saik Road and Jiak Chuan Road, we worked with LOPELAB to turn roadside carpark lots into rest spots. These parklets provide restaurant customers, passers-by and visitors a space to lounge and enjoy the neighbourhood.

Repurposing segments from old cement pipes, a series of round seatings were formed. To complement the cool-toned industrial look, we used birch ply seat tops to bring a softer, warmer feel to the combination.

Paired with a dark brown stain, a weatherproof finish was also applied to the birch ply seating.

The parklets blend in and complement the overall look of the neighbourhood, while also possessing its own contemporary charm.
