These luxury bespoke liquor chests feature an unlikely marriage between traditional and modern techniques.

Recesses on the base of the leather-lined compartments hold the vessels in place. Because of the asymmetrical shape of the bottle, extensive prototyping was necessary to get it to fit snugly.

Using the data from a 3D scan, we used a CNC machine to create a negative of the shape on a piece of plywood. Next, we replicated the base of the bottle with a 3D-printer. The leather was then clamped between these two pieces, and soaked in water.

Taking into account the leather shrinkage, we repeated and tweaked the whole process, until the fit was just right.
